Manchester United hosts Manchester City at the Old Trafford

It’s time for another great Manchester derby because Manchester United hosts Manchester City at the Old Trafford in a first 1/2-final of the Carabao Cup. One of these two teams will reach the final at the Wembley and now we will see the first clash between them.

Manchester United didn’t have an easy task in the previous round, because they had to face Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge. Despite of facing the Blues at their own ground, United played a very good game and achieved a 2-1 win. The English international Marcus Rashford was the man of the hour, scoring twice for the visitors.

This is a second consecutive cup game for Manchester United in a matter of just few days. On Saturday Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team visited Wolverhampton Wanderers in a game from the FA Cup, but the match ended without any goals scored – 0-0.

Manchester City are the reigning champions of the Carabao Cup. The Cityzens won the competition in two consecutive seasons, so now they are aiming to do it for a third time in a row.

In the previous round City had the luck to play at home at the Etihad, hosting Southampton. Pep Guardiola’s team scored three times against the Saints, which was enough for a 3-1 win. The club’s best all time goalscorer Sergio Aguero scored twice for the hosts, while his countryman Nicolas Otamendi added one more.

Taking into account that both teams are not really fighting for the Premier League title this season, these cup competitions could be important for them. It’s not as big as winning the league of course, but it’s still much better than winning nothing.

That’s our sure win prediction today for the Carabao Cup first 1/2-final game between Manchester United and Manchester City on Tuesday. Which one of these two teams will take an advantage before the second leg?
