Manchester City will have the chance to win their first trophy for the season

Manchester City will have the chance to win their first trophy for the season when they face Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup final this Sunday. This game is going to be played on Sunday at the Wembley Stadium in London. Let’s preview it in our football tips tonight.

Manchester City have the chance to win the Carabao Cup, also known as the League Cup, for a third consecutive season. The Cityzens are defending their trophy and they can win it for a third time under the management of Josep Guardiola. The Catalan tactician is usually fielding his best lineups in these finals, so we don’t think it’s going to be different on Sunday as well.

The Etihad giants will travel to London in a great mood after their 2-1 win over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League. City made a big step towards the 1/4-finals of the competition, conquering the Bernabeu with goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne. It was one of Guardiola’s best wins with Manchester City till date.

We expect to see Manchester City motivated to lift the trophy because of their failure to catch up with Liverpool for the Premier League title this season. Because of this the Cityzens are forced to focus on cup competitions and this is one of them.

For many people it’s a surprise to see Aston Villa at the Carabao Cup final. They had the luck to eliminate a weak Liverpool team from the competition because of the Reds’ participation at the Club World Cup in December. During the 1/2-finals Villa were underdogs against Leicester City, but surprisingly they managed to upset the Foxes and reach the final.

Arguably Manchester City are the favourites against Aston Villa in this Carabao Cup final at the Wembley. Under Guardiola Man City are usually giving their all in finals like this one, so we don’t expect any surprises here. We believe Man City will lift another trophy and focus on the next goal. But in same time Aston Villa could fight to stay alive in this final, that’s for sure.
